Bainimarama?s refusal to stand Mahendra Chaudary down pending an investigation into tax evasion allegations clearly shows the modus operandi of the interim government, which is a total disregard of the rule of law and justice, when faulted. This is further exacerbated by the fact Mahendra Chaudary not only continues in office but is permitted to appoint the new Chairman of FICAC, who is going to decide and/or oversee any investigation into the allegations made against him!
