When staging a coup in December 2006 Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama made a solemn pledge that no military officer would gain financially as a result of the military taking over.As we now know, that promise was a big lie. Over the past 18 months we have seen military personnel installed in high-paying positions across a whole range of our nation?s institutions. To rub salt into the wound, Bainimarama keeps talking about the need for good governance, but his actions contradict his words. Instead,
