Fiji failed to produced an election timetable at a special meeting of Pacific Foreign Ministers in Auckland yesterday but it indicated it could be ready to produce one next month.

Foreign ministers from New Zealand and Australia say they are willing to talk with the interim Fijian government but that they won't reward "bad behaviour".

New Zealand will play host to a meeting of Pacific Island foreign ministers next month. The forum will be attended by foreign representatives from Pacific governments, including Fiji.
