New Zealand millionaire businessman Ballu Khan was yesterday granted bail in a special hearing in the Suva magistrates court in Fiji. Police allege Mr Khan is a key figure in the alleged plot to assassinate Fiji coup leader Commodore Frank Bainimarama last year.

Millionaire businessman Ballu Khan suffered a fractured skull and cheekbone when he was beaten during his arrest, a medical report shows. Khan has been under guard in a Suva hospital since he was beaten by Fiji police and soldiers during his arrest on November 3.
