April 23 (Bloomberg) -- A body set up by Fiji's caretaker government to investigate corruption has powers of arrest and interrogation that break the law and constitution, a spokeswoman for the country's law society said.

A legislation to establish Fiji?s anti-corruption investigation unit is expected in early March. The man picked by the military to head the unit, Police Inspector Nasir Ali, said his unit will be established in three weeks to investigate corruption claims against the ousted Qarase-led government.
